  • I love it and it’s so helpful

I recently found out I’m losing my hearing and this app has been so helpful with learning asl. One thing tho, I think it would also be cool if there was a way to teach people how to read lips, so if we don’t want people to know yet we don’t have to sign.
  • Needs auto replay feature.

Great app. But needs a auto replay feature. Inconvenient to keep pressing replay button repeatedly. Thank you.

I have this app on both my iPhone SE & my iPad 6. Since the most recent update: on my iPhone most of the categories won’t update (the waiting circle remains open & unmoving); on my iPad the app crashes immediately upon opening. Hoping there’s another update SOON.
  • Disappointed with Signs

Many of the signs are not the same as we learned from the school my son attends. My son is Deaf and goes to Deaf school for over 10 years. For example: Hot, Cold. We know some signs have several signs but there should not be that many differences.

I bought the package $10 but I wasn’t able to see the other sections I kept on clicking to see it but nothing I don’t know what else to do. I would appreciate it if you can enlighten me with some answers.
  • Search option needs to be fixed!!

This app is amazing but it is difficult to find what you need in a timely manner. I tried searching the sign for “thank you” and nothing came up. Blank screen. I had to go into each module individually and look up my search manually. This app would be perfect if that search option worked. It would save a lot of time.

I love that this app has Deaf creators. There are a variety of lessons for conversational ASL on different subjects. The app is easily searchable and has different Deaf people presenting the ASL lessons that help students see a variety & nuance of ASL. Presenters are engaging & help students understand ASL is more than just what hands are doing. Phrases are translated to English captions as they are signed so that differences in grammar & sentence structure can be understood. They also have an excellent Instagram account for receptivity practice that goes beyond what is taught in the app. Excellent start for those beginning ASL or looking to brush up if you are out of practice. I found the $10 to be more than reasonable especially as more units get added.
  • App won’t let me click on anything

Not sure how everyone else is getting it to work... I downloaded the app on iPhone 7 and it opens but I can’t click on any of the free lessons. Nothing works to open a lesson except for the pop up on the paid lessons. Wish I could try the app but it just isn’t working for me unless this is how it was designed...

I am re-learning ASL basics because I work with two deaf people and a hard-of-hearing person, and I feel we would could improve communication and more importantly draw us closer as a team. The signs are clear and at a pace that makes it easy to keep up. I give 5 stars because the app goes through the basics which is exactly what I need for now and for $10 to get some refresher content isn’t bad at all.

I love this app! Easy to learn from, especially with the slow motion function. Very clear movements. Great variety & updates. Whenever I’m commuting or have down time, I learn so many new signs! The only downside is that the full version doesn’t transfer between family sharing plans, so each of my family had to get the full version on their account. But so worth it!
