Description

We’ll do the vetting so you can do the petting. Want to date someone who shares your drive? And maybe, just maybe, you’d like to meet someone attractive enough to look good in black-and-white photos, courteous enough to use punctuation marks, and flexible enough to fit into your way-too-restrictive scheduling blocks? While your mother calls you picky, we call you self-aware. It’s happy hour, so go get ’em.' League users now have the option of becoming a member by purchasing several subscription options. This membership offers extra perks, customization, more prospects & invites to exclusive events. Depending on what term you choose, your Membership will last for either 1 month, 6 month, or 12 month, and automatically renew at those intervals from point of purchase onward. If you wish to cancel your membership before it is renewed, you must do so at least 24-hours before the end of the current period. Payment will be charged to iTunes Account at confirmation of purchase. Subscription automatically renews unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24-hours before the end of the current period. Account will be charged for renewal within 24-hours prior to the end of the current period, and will be renewed at the same price the next term. Subscriptions may be managed by the user and auto-renewal may be turned off by going to your Account Settings after purchase. • Old Hinge with an Entitlement Complex

I rejoined after a 2 year hiatus (not sure how long I lasted initially) and so far all I’ve seen is most of the same people I’ve already swiped left or right on from another app. I also feel way more pressure to interact for fear of being kicked off which is a bit anxiety inducing. I find myself saying yes to people I don’t really think are more interesting than they weren’t on Bumble, Hinge, CMB, etc.... Another fun addition is that preferences don’t seem to matter at all to whatever algorithm selects my whopping 3 matches a day, so why even ask what I’m looking for? Most dealbreakers aren’t even touched on or displayed. Do they have kids? Want kids? Divorced? Widowed? Smoke? Conservative? Moderate? Liberal? Almost all the free apps have those options. Not everyone chooses to display all of them, but the majority of people do because we all realize these are important things to most of us in the dating world. Bottom line, I’ll probably stick to getting carpal tunnel swiping left on an app with more potential matches and less elitist bs.
  • No Diversity or Inclusion

I’ve been on The League for 3 weeks now. I live in a big diverse city, yet, I only get white profiles. Trying to get a more inclusive experience, I unchecked Caucasian and Christian so now I only get Caucasian Jewish and Caucasian atheists. Coffee meets Bagel is similar in that you only receive several profiles to choose from a day and the selections were diverse. Because The League puts you on hold while they review your profile, The only conclusion that I can come up with is that the League has a race issue.
  • Not as advertised.

For the price, they are not giving anything elite or special. They give you 4-5 “matches” per day, and generally, most of them are outside of my preferences, so not actually a “match” (I don’t want to be matched with a man who is five years younger than me, just my thing, but what’s the point in entering a few preferences if they’re not going to be paid attention to?). They claim they have this gigantic waitlist, but if that was true, why not let more people in so they can actually have a good sized client list at different age ranges? I think that waitlist is a scam to make people feel it’s more elite, and be willing to pay. Don’t fall for it. I’m asking for a refund that I probably won’t get.
  • Scam

In 3 weeks I had 2 conversations. 1 person was homeless and couch surfing, the other was ideologically opposed to taking women on dates and invited himself over to take a bath. This site is expensive, terrible, hyped and they offer no guarantees.

This app has a lot of glitches. I can never log in or meet anyone new because the app won’t load.

This app is good for people in their 20s and 30s, but if you’re not in that age range do t bother. I wasted money becoming a member at the age of 53. After three weeks of a six-month subscription, the matches are far outside of my age range (10+ years) and now 400 miles away. They refuse to refund my money.
  • 22 year wait time for approval

I did the math. I move up on average ten spots a day. Divide that by my spot in line and it’s going to take 22 years to get approved. Wow. Just wow.
  • An app that puts you on a waiting list and spams you with bot messages the whole time.

I kept this out for about a month hoping that I would get in. The numbers never really ticked up for me as far as the waiting list went. But all the while I got plenty of the same messages over and over again from the “concierge”. They were all pretty much the same. That and random other notifications. Every time I thought the notification would say that I was in but all it did was try to keep my interest and keep me from deleting the app by being relevant. I’m deleting this. Who has time for this.

I have been pleasantly surprised by the app so far, primarily by the fact that I've actually matched and met people on it. This might not seem like much but on other apps I've been miserably unsuccessful, for any number of reasons. Maybe it's an anomaly or maybe people feel a little safer on this because of the basic prescreening. That doesn't mean you won't get the occasional profile that has no actual pictures of the person, but I guess everyone gets a mulligan. In any case, it's pretty much the professional class, so if that's not your bag, then this probably isn't the place for you. Otherwise you may find that it saves a bit of time and brain damage vs other apps.
