  • Long time user increasingly disappointed

    By FlyinErin
Where do I start? I was one of the early adopters of LTP many years ago. Back then the software was fine and the price was reasonable. As my career progressed, LTP has also made changes to their software. Unfortunately I feel they’ve gotten greedy. Rather than the 1-time fee for the software as it used to be, we now all get to pay annual to use the software we’d already bought! But it was a pivotal time in my flying career and I really needed easy access to my data. So I bought the subscription. Each year with new iOS upgrades and LTP upgrades it gets more complicated to use the program, to synch between my iPhone app and my MacBook to print logbook pages, etc. In Oct 2017 I had such issues and frustration about the lack of synching and the need to essentially buy a new MacBook (the old one worked fine but couldn’t run the latest iOS, making my LTP software obsolete), that Noah felt some of my pain and offered me a 20% off coupon to use for “future purchases”. Unfortuantley I can’t access that discount no matter what I try…. Today my subscription is about to auto-renew, but I haven’t been able to get my MacBook and my iPhone to synch with each other since January. When I tried to submit a comment for help on LTP’s Support page, it tells me they need to verify my email address (the same one that I’ve had for all the years I’ve been paying to use LTP). It tells me that it sent me an email (which I didn’t get). Then it says if I didn’t receive the email I’m to click the link to try again. But that just takes me to a “The Page You Are Looking For Can’t Be Found” page. Dead link. So I click on the “Verify Your Address” link, which also takes me to a dead page. How am I supposed to get the support I pay a lot of money for if I can’t even get my long-time address “verified” because the webpages are dead, which won’t let my quesiton be submitted?! As much as I want access to my 9,000 logged flight hours and my ability to input them on a flight-by-flight basis, I don’t believe the hefty (and regularly increasing) subscription fees LTP charges are worth it. My MacBook data won’t synch, I can’t submit a question for Support, the pricing structure says one thing in the Mac Store and another through the iPhone app’s “Settings” page. I want to consider downgrading to just the iPhone app since I can’t get my MacBook data to work anyway, but it won’t let me choose that option as a current Mac+iPhone+iPad subscriber. Current pricing plan or higher, it seems. What used to be a really great product has over time degraded in a few different aspects, gotten too expensive and it’s support staff too out of reach. I’d suggest you look elsewhere for your flight logging needs.
  • Long time user, frustated just as long

    By Fed up pilot
I have been using Logten for over 10 years, logging nearly 5000 hours, through multiple iterations, so I’m an experienced user. I cannot recommend this logbook, and highly encourage you to look elsewhere. I originally used logten because there was no other options for Mac, and now there are many. I wished I would have had started with another app, because now I am too far in to easily change. Foreflight is a great example, and even gives you charts, approach plates, weather and so much more in addition to a logbook that you can access from many devices. Logten has always been a glorified excel spreadsheet, and it is poor business to have to purchase at full price whenever they release a new version. The reports are nice for airline applications, but my goodness, the frustration with how it functions severely outweighs the benefits. Now it is not letting me use the software I purchased and paid for because my “subscription” is up, and I need to login to an account I don’t want to have. It is ridiculous that I can’t even use the software I paid for, and is a testament to how they continually change their business “rules” to try to squeeze out more money from you. This software is barely worth the $100+ I paid for it at least three times over, let alone a subscrition. Save your money, and look elsewhere. I’m fed up and would rather enter 5000 hours worth of flight time in another app than pay any more money to this company.
  • Great app, but not sure about the new pricing structure

    Title says it all
  • “Could not upgrade logbook to latest format"

    By scottmccall
Thanks, now my logbook is inacessable after upgrading. Goodjob, this is now the 20+th time you’ve destroyed my logbook with carelessness in your programming. Yeah I have a backup somewhere, what use is it if the software wont open! Edit: After the developer’s insulting response of “please contact our support team, we can absolutel help”, I’m adding this note. I’ve already contacted your support team, I was informed that you are aware of this sitatuion and to expect an update soon. It’s been 7 days, still no update. And because I do mass-schedule importing from my mac (because iOS devices can’t do importing) I can’t add my schedule to my logbook until this is resolved. You’d think that if you guys realzied “holy smokes there’s a problem with our software thats preenting customers OF A SUBSCRIPTION SERVICE from opening our software, we should imemdiately get the fix published!” Instead, you’re taking your sweet time. Worst. Customer. Service. ever. Edit2: Was emailed by Coradine support, Noah, on a work around (workaround is not a solution) but at least a work around to access my logbook. This involved moving files around on my computer (which is fine, I’m capable of doing so). However, the reason I needed my mac was for mass scheudle importing. After completing this work-around, my entire iCloud sync is destroyed. I can’t even remove all data and start from scratch. It’s so bad, I’ve contacted Apple for a resolution and they said they’ve never seen it before and this problem has been escalated to some of their highest Engineering teamsters to figure out how to restore my iCloud. I’ve emailed my sitation as well as the steps taken to remidy back to Noah and I have yet to hear back (weekend). So while I can see my logbook now, I’m kind of at a standstill until iCloud sync is back up. I can use Wi-Fi sync, but thats difficult to do in hotels on overnights. Side note: How is that solution to split-screen coming along? Submitted that issue to you end of May 2016 and was told you’re working on a solution. Here we are 2 years later, still no support for split screen.
  • Not Impressed

I just purchased the annual subscription for Mac as i am getting ready to get out of the military and transition to the airlines. I read the reviews of a lot of elogbooks and what made me go with LogTen pro was its connection to the pilotcredentials website. After importing with difficulting my currant electronic logbook and reviewing the options available I have this conclusion: the software is really pretty simple and doesn’t seem to offer the robust options you would expect for $100 a year. I would not recommend going this option and I won’t be renowing my subscription. For others who have found yourself in my shoes, be sure to go to your subscriptions in iTunes and disable the auto renew function as you may find yourself out another $100 next year unexpectedly.
  • Great App and Customer Service has been great!

    By samer.a92
I have been a loyal LogTen customer for years now. I like their layout, radar, summaries, smart groups, and ease of use being an IOS product. I have run into a couple issues while using the system, all of which has been corrected with the help of very responsive and knowledgable individuals on the Coradine Team. Some would drop the 5-star rating to 4-stars because of the issues, but the customer support was top notch. 5-stars absolutely earned. Although I agree that the pricing is a tad on the high side, there is no other app I’ve come across that I’d rather use. My Macbook and iPhone sync over WiFi, I make manual backups on occasion, and I back my macbook up through time machine. I use just about every tool at my disposal to back up the system (because I'm paranoid) but other than one user error that wiped some time, the application itself hasn’t been a disappointment. I’ve also had the pleasure of chatting with ‘H’ in Customer Service and it was nice to hear that the majority of the team behind this product are also pilots. Although apps continue to be released, at this time LogTen Pro has my business for at least the short term, but hopefully in the long-run as well!
  • Sync is horrible

    By AIRHAWK10
If you expect this to sync throughout your devices, be ready. It is hit or miss, miss mostly. I have used it for a few years as a professional pilot. The sync requires a LOT of work. If I wasn’t getting ready to retire, I would ditch this completely!
  • Do NOT subscribe to this logbook service

    By Doubletrouble777
If you are converting from another logbook program to LTP because you switched from PC to MAC (like me) look elsewhere for a better electronic logbook. I have been in touch with “customer support” numerous times via email trying to get the Logbook Pro file export to Excel to LTP to work properly. The converted file mixed many multiple-leg trips on the same day up (using hobbs times only) and it would take hours to sort the trips into proper order (Excel file lists trips in correct order). LTP does not offer telephone support and email response is very sporadic so I’m at an impasse. I was also given a discount link to save ~$30 on an annual subscription that didn’t work either. There appears to be a few neat features in LTP, but I’m not wasting money on a subscription for a service that is so fraught with errrors. This might be an ok program for pilots just starting out, but not for those who would have to enter thousands of hours of flying from scratch, or sift through the LTP datafile looking for errors. You can find a better product elsewhere, or load Windows on MAC and continue to use Logbook Pro, like I’ll be doing. Only problem is I can’t even finish applications for the majors until I return home from flying in 18 days time… Aarghh...

    By Annoyed at LogTen
I regret the day I ever put this terrible, no good app on my devices. Sync, DOES NOT WORK EVER. I’ve spent the last 2 hours trying to get this to sync between devices and NO LUCK. This is status quo as usual. I have zero issues with icloud syncing in any of my other apps. Of course the developers will comment on this review and talk about how reliable and wonderful the sync feature works. Well that is absoluetely incorrect and they should spend time trying to fix it instead of replying to reviews with lies. Once the subscription (that I was forced into, since I’ve been using this before a subscription was required, and my data was held hostage until I paid up) is over I will print out all my logbooks (pray that they are accurate since this thing is also very glitchy, and I spend an annoying amount of time fixing the glitches that taint my logbooks) and NEVER EVER USE THIS POORLY DEVELOPED APP EVER AGAIN. I have meet with LogTen ‘whoever they send to trade shows’ and they are the least knowledge people representing a product I have EVER encountered. They couldn’t fix issues I was having, while they held my iphone in their hand. They handed it back to me and said they had no clue, with a big dumb grin. I want the application to STOP counting visual approaches as instrucment approaches and they couldn’t do it. Thanks for sending the janitor to the trade show. There online support is also the WORST. It once took 9 days for them to respond to an issue, the next time I reached out to their support it took 2 requests before I was finally contacted 6 days later and they were unable to help…as usual. Do not purchase this hunk of junk if you think it will make your life easier tallying up all your hours for various forms. I spend more time F*&%ing with this crap-ap then I EVER did with a paper logbook. I wish there was an option to give this APP negative one thousand stars.
  • What a waste of $

    By isaior
Seriously, stay away. The program has so many bugs. I have brought it up to their attention and what has been done: NOTHING. Oh, but they are quick to charge you the $80 per year for a software full of glitches. You have been warned. Stay away!
