  • The German needs work

The lower levels are fine, but by level 6, the translations no longer match the words. I understand that language is fluid, but when you are being taught to say, I disagree with you”, you can’t translate that as “I have a different opinion”. Words matter. These later lessons are impossible to memorize because the stupid answers you are learning don’t sync with the questions.

    Love it!😍
  • 5 stars until...

By MichaelMW90 update has left me seriously considering canceling my subscription, which I’ve had for a year now. Shortly after finding the app, I even talked my fiancé into using Memrise. I’ve used Memrise for learning Simplified Chinese+Mandarin, and it had long seemed to provide equal emphasis on learning character, pinyin, and translation. This was the way I best learned. But since a recent update, I more often than not find reviews have mostly, if not exclusively, shown literal English translations alone when a correct answer is given: virtually never (simplified) Chinese characters now. If I could make a suggestion, it would be to allow customizable settings, or a new feature, allowing you to review any one of these (character, pinyin, literal translation) or a combination of them. I’d have loved such a setting or feature even before the update that has nearly eliminated the characters. I can’t see why this or something like it couldn’t be useful for other Memrise courses.
  • Awesome!

Absolutely love this app! It would be nice if they added some more languages but no other complaints!
  • Not the best

This app is not the best app for learning. I find it very hard to learn Different languages because it doesn’t do a very good job at teaching and you need to pay for it, it’s not free. that’s just my opinion and I think if you really want to learn a new language you should try Duolingo! It helps me so much and it’s free!!
  • Amazing app!

  • Oopsy won't log in

    By 1EleanorRigby
I'm signed in on my old iPad, but I can't log in on my iPhone or my Amazon Fire. I get a "There's a problem with your configuration" with my Amazon Fire. And it sends me to the Facebook developers page. I signed in using Facebook on my iPad, so no password will work. I cannot change my password because I signed up using Facebook. I go to the Help link and all I get is "Oopsy looks like your internet ran out of fuel". So yeah, maybe this could have been good, but I'll never know because the developers did such a cruddy job setting up the app. If it's not to be signed in using Facebook then take that option off. If you're only allowed to ever use one device, say that. My iPad is old, I wanted to set this up on my new phone and my new Amazon tablet.

It’s a really good app to try new languages, At the start I didn’t know any french but I know a lot now from this app, The only thing I don’t like is that if you want to continue practicing you have to pay. Overall it’s brilliant!
