THE STORY BEHIND LUMOSITY We’re a team of scientists and designers exploring new ways to challenge the brain and push cognitive research forward. Our scientists take common cognitive and neuropsychological tasks, or design entirely new, experimental challenges. Working with experienced designers, they transform these tasks into fun games that challenge core cognitive skills. We also work with 40+ university researchers worldwide. We give qualified researchers free access to Lumosity training and tools — helping them investigate new areas in cognition. As we learn more about the possibilities of brain training, we invite you to train with us, and join us in our mission to advance the understanding of human cognition. The app is available in English, German, Japanese, French, Spanish, Portuguese, and Korean. To access the app in one of our languages, change your device setting to the desired language. • Annoying

    By Hoping for Updates
The app is good EXCEPT it’s really not a “free” app. They annoy you constantly by showing you things you cannot access without the premium (I.e. paid) version. Don’t have a free app if you just want to advertise your paid app.
  • Great App!

    By Youronetrueloveakasuperman112
Lumosity is a great App to practice mental dexterity. It's like a mental warmup or training to help you keep your mind sharp each day. It improves Cognitive flexibility and is fun.
  • Compared to what?

    By Move forward 52
I want to know how I compare to others in my age group and education level and gender. This app does not provide that information. The “compare” page doesn’t provide any information about how the statistic was obtained so it is not interesting at all. For all I know the comparison could be this week vs total history. The games stretch my brain and that is why I purchased it. I do not play games online so it is irritating that the games are so fast. I wish there was a “slow” mode. I would play more if I could slow down some of the games.
  • Great app but still lacking a bit

    By Home from work
Love this app! Trying to use to see if if changes I’m making make improvements to my cognitive function. You can compare to others’ scores and see how your last game and a 4-week average ranks, but it would be helpful to get a trend of your own data so you can see if specific things to change in your life (sleep, whatever) makes a difference. Games are similar to Neurologist tests- very good!
  • Great balance and full featured!

Loving this app! Give it a quick try at the least. Tons of things to keep you busy. Either let it drive you get what you want.
  • Fined by FBI for Fraudulent Representation

    By Yelena20
“The shine has come off Lumosity with an announcement by federal investigators that the makers must pay $2m to settle a charge that it made fraudulent claims and “preyed on consumers’ fears”. “The company has also been handed a $50m penalty for harming consumers – but the fine is suspended because the company cannot afford to pay it, according to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC).” “We are seeing a trend in health-related mobile apps, such as those targeting ageing consumers with dietary supplements, cognitive training or services claiming to diagnose illnesses,” Michelle Rusk, an attorney with the FTC’s bureau of consumer protection, said Wednesday.” “Some are more fraudulent than others but we are watching very carefully and making a bigger effort to crack down on those who make claims but do not have the science to back them up.” The Guardian, 2016.
  • Better memory!

    By NicolNi
I have been using Lumosity for over 3 years and my memory has gotten better since then. I recommend it for anyone who would like to enhance their brain power by taking a few minutes everyday to play these games.
  • Good use of my time

    By brandizel
There are so many ways to waste time on your phone these days. Glad there are still app that are fun and make you feel good about using. Keep it up ! 😉
  • Good but limited

    By Aurum_Life
Lumosity is super limited. The games are fun and the science behind them are great, but I can’t help but notice that there is only so much this app offers without the pro version. You do the 3 short daily exercises, and then you can’t do anything else. You can see all of those games sitting there with a little lock symbol in the corner almost taunting you. I guess I’m just left wanting more, without having to download and pay for premium.
  • Top That

    By Puddlejumper2
I refuse to do the "Top That" game. I literally watched it tick off 10 seconds while giving me possible answers that were far less than what I had already accumulated. If you're going to have a timed game like this, you need to always give an opportunity to increase the score. It is very frustrating to sit and watch the seconds tick off while the game limits your ability to continue increasing your score.
