  • Worst learning path you can use!!!

    By Maybets
Duolingo is one of the worst learning websites I've ever found and the fact that they rate it 5 Stars is puzzling. My teacher used this app/website when I was French and none of the students thought it was helpful. If anything it confused us even more.
  • Took my gems

    By Pdstrike
I am hooked on learning with this app so I used gems to refill my health. It took my gems and never refilled my health. I just want my gems back. 450 of them.
  • Not advancing

I have been on common phases for months. Why can’t I move in to something new???????
  • Love this app!

Definitely enjoy this app, the lessons are fun and really easy to learn. I do think it would be cool if we could hear playbacks of our recordings when they come up in lessons! But would recommend to anyone!
  • Nice app but buggy

    By roblayton.net
The Japanese for English learners version works great, but I referred the app to my Thai friend who wanted to learn English and she can't progress past lesson 2. Entering the word for "yes", "man" and "woman" in Thai kept marking her wrong. The answer on the fail screen even matched her answer exactly. Please fix.

This app is really good. Nice and simple and repetitive enough that I retain the information.
  • Very intuitive and useful

This is a perfect setting for travelers. There is enough material to get over the inertia hurdle. Duolingo provides a great platform to learn how to fundamentally converse while traveling through. It is also a nice brush up / supplement for already known languages.
  • Sentence validations are broken

    By j8chuenka
First of all, I love the app. I picked to learn Spanish. When the practice to listen the sentence and type the translation in English, I wrote down the exact sentence matching the answer and it keeps telling me it is incorrect. Then, it keeps repeating into infinite loop of the same practice until I runout of heart. Please fix that. Speech recognition for translation practices also have the same problems. Sometimes it passes with my correct answers and sometimes it doesn’t. Thank you so much though for making this app. I learn a lot.
  • Duolingo is 💣

It’s the only free language service I’ve found. I’m loving learning Italian on here and if I can ever afford it, I have the option to pay for it to stop ads and keep learning in the same system that I’ve grown to love. There’s so much variety in how they test your knowledge. You really have to pay attention and I personally take notes like it’s a class because they won’t let you put the wrong word even when it’s the right word in the wrong tense. I appreciate the accuracy and I think the whole set up is great. The only thing it’s lacking is a background on why the words are the way they are. It would be easier(and I don’t know how they would integrate this) if they told us- oh, verbs have six forms. I drink: Io bevo. You drink: Tu bevi. He/She drinks: Lui/Lei beve. They drink: Loro bevono. We drink: Noi beviamo. You all drink: Voi bevete. There’s no one to tell you, and you have to notice these patterns and remember them. Good news is, they’re linear and that structure works for a lot of them. I eat/drink/read/write: Io mangio/bevo/leggo/scrivo. And so on: We eat/drink/read/write: Noi mangiamo/beviamo/leggiamo/scriviamo. So it’s great that I notice these patterns, but maybe there are a few who don’t catch on and get frustrated and quit. Maybe a little more explanation could be added in. And then even though I can figure it out, I won’t have to on my own and others will have a clearer path. All together though, I love this app and I appreciate it so much.
  • Could be better

Every time I do a test, the app says my answer is incorrect. Although my answer is exactly the same as what the app says is the correct answer. Reporting a problem does nothing, because there isn't an option for "my answer was correct". I'm losing patience with this app. Will delete it if the issue is not fixed soon.
