  • Too many bugs, terrible tech support

Unfortunately I no longer use this app and will not be recommending it to my friends. I experienced the same bug multiple times. If I created a task and went into that task to add additional details, all features were not available and if I tried to use them, I was prompted to upgrade to the paid version of the app. This is an ad that swings up from the bottom of the screen when you touch a feature that isn’t available in the free version. However, even the features that were supposed to be available in the free version were not available and I was plagued with this ad to purchase your full version while not having access to the features in your free version at all. Not cool. Your help desk kept having me uninstall and reinstall the app. I corresponded with them over a several week period. I described the bug in great detail. Uninstalling and reinstalling was their only solution offered. I did that on three separate occasions and the app would work fine for a few days until the same bug would return. One even suggested it was my phone and not your app. I was asked to create a video of the bug but unfortunately I didn’t yet have that feature as I have an older iPhone. Oddly enough my husband was also using Any.do and experienced the exact same bug, though. Maybe it’s his phone too? Doubt it. I don’t believe it was my phone but I guess your customer service team doesn’t want to fix bugs, just blame the user. That’s called lazy customer service. The last time I uninstalled it and reinstalled your app, I lost all of my task lists when I logged back in. I had over fifty some odd items typed into Any.do. I reached out to customer service hoping there was maybe a way to access a back up, I again got no assistance. Since I had to recreate my whole task list I just switched to a different task list, Wunderlist, and have had no bugs or problems since. I know it’s being remade but it’s still there for now and it works much better. I can’t recommend your app because it’s purpose is to save me time while instead I was left dealing with the frustration of this apps bugs and trying to get help from customer service took up MORE time. Losing my task list completely was a huge waste of my time. I am so relieved I did not pay money for your full version!! Useless customer service and an app with too many bugs. There are plenty of other task list apps out there that work much better. Update: I received an email and review response from the tech support person at any.do, Tali. I found the response to be unhelpful and unproductive as it was mostly just explaining that they feel they did their job and I did not provide adequate description and the information they requested for them to resolve my issue. I feel the need to further explain since I don’t believe that is fair or accurate. Asking a customer for a video of the bug when it is happening after the customer has provided a detailed description of the bug several times isn’t helpful to the customer. At the time of the email I did not have the capability to take a screencast on my iPhone because I had not updated my IOS yet. It is not that I wouldn’t provide a screencast, I couldn’t. But that said, Customer Service never bothered to gather any other information about the situation such as what iphone I had, what iOS version, which app version I was running, etc. That is critical information that can help solve bug issues. Why did they never ask? Since I could not provide a screencast of the bug I was refused help at that point even though I had provided a detailed description of the bug. I was also told that no other customer had described a bug like that so that was how the representative drew the conclusion that it was likely my device causing the bug. At that point there was no additional help offered to me. In my opinion this is not effective tech support response in investigating a potential bug. They didn't even collect any info on my phone, iOS version, etc as most tech support people investigating a bug do. If I could move this rating to NO STARS, I would. I feel like instead of just saying sorry, and accepting constructive criticism to improve their customer service effort, Any.do support is now blaming me for their lack of technical assistance in resolving a bug! Ridiculous and unprofessional. They keep responding with long excuses and assigning blame to others instead of owning the issue and using this scenario as a learning experience for their customer service group. Don’t buy this app. If you can get the free version to work, kudos to you. But if you use the free version just know that you are not likely to receive good customer service if you have a problem. Update 2: The app developers keep updating their response saying I can still reach out to them but still have not taken any responsibility for the numerous times I tried working with them. I happily will use Wunderlist until it is cancelled, as it is a far superior task app and has all the features AND IT WORKS even though it’s not even supported.

  • Uh oh. It’s losing it’s simplicity

Here is my most recent review of Any.do which I recommended. Geeks designing for Geeks. Sheesh. It’s very, very hard not to fix what ain’t broke until it is broke. I fear this is happening here. This WAS as close to pencil and paper as any I’ve tried, and I tried a lot of them. Simplicity is hard for designers but this had it plus other, but not too many, features. After the latest upgrade I’m having to spend more on entering and managing the app than simply using it. . Just like all the tedious other, so called, planners. Any.do’s unique simplicity was gone when I opened it today after the upgrade. I was suddenly baffled at making an entry and nothing was familiar. It’s no longer the only app as convenient as paper. I regret recommending this to my busy daughter who bought the subscription just before this upgrade. I’ll not renew without a radical re-simplification. Remember KISS? It still applies. Now where did I put away those 3x5 cards?
  • Great and friendly app

I’ve been using Any.do for almost a month now and I love it! Having such smooth functions and vivid colors this app has really made my life more organized. The app is not focused on ads or constantly harassing for memberships, which is perfect. Also I have experienced no crashes or annoying notifications. The simple and easy way to operate the app really encourages to be productive. Not to mention the satisfying animation when something from the “to do list” is done.

  • Horrible Update

I used to love this app and use it every day. The new reminders do not turn off in the settings and are extremely annoying to have to switch off every time you create, move or edit an item. I tried turning the reminders off in the setting and nothing changed. I tried sending message for support but their support page would not allow me to submit the feedback that I took the time to write out. Extremely frustrating I am now looking for a new to do app. Unfortunate because the app used to be so good.

This app is one of the best apps I’ve seen in a long time. I love how it allows you to check off each task as you do them and it will keep reminding you of the overdue tasks. It also imports your other tasks from other calendars automatically. This app keeps my hectic life organized! Thanks!
  • It makes it hard to delete account

I found the program unsatisfactory, I am trying to delete the account but it requires a password to delete the program even though I've been on the program for less than one day Furthermore, The program does not follow through in sending you an email to give you instructions to delete the program
  • Misleading Calendar Integration

    2
    By IntensityTX
The app integrates with the calendar on your device, not directly to an email account on Outlook or Gmail. So I had to add the family email and calendar I setup to my iPhone calendar when I primarily use the Outlook app. Despite feature requests for this, the developer has closed those requests on their site stating the feature is complete when what has been added is not what most were actually requesting. On the positive side, the Alexa integration is fantastic. Would like to see more integration with Cortana. Lastly, if there is a way to add a to-do without having a due date or reminder set automatically I haven’t figured that out. I’m not finding it ideal that every grocery item has a reminder assigned to it. Would be nice if there was a way to set a general item list vs a to do list.
