Ever felt uneasy navigating new waters? Wanted to know your friend's location? Or looking for the best place to launch your boat or anchor for the night? Wavve Boating is revolutionizing the boating industry by providing all of this in one easy to use mobile application. Join a community of boaters building a network of boating knowledge for all to enjoy. Key functionalities that will improve your day on the water include: Intuitive navigation experience - Forget those overcrowded, unclear, and visually unappealing navigation options. With Wavve, it’s as easy as staying in the blue, and avoiding the red. Customized charts - Wavve’s innovative approach allows boaters to view and manipulate charts based on their unique needs and preferences. You choose your draft to create the map experience most relevant to your vessel. Collaborative contribution - Just like on the water, on Wavve, we all help each other out. Our map pinning functionality allows users to share their knowledge of the waterways by adding mooring, boat ramp, fishing, and point of interest locations directly to the map. The community validates all pins using a voting system. Not willing to share a great find with other users? No problem. You have the option to specify pins as private. Safety (and fun!) in numbers - Enable location sharing to allow other Wavve users to see where you are. Get together to lend a hand or make a new friend. Wavve needs you! We've built the platform but it is boaters that will build Wavve. Share your knowledge, share your time, and save a prop or two in the process. Current chart data includes coastal United States and Canada, The Great Lakes, The St.Lawrence River and portions of the Caribbean. SUBSCRIPTION PRICING & TERMS Wavve Boating is free to download. • Don’t waste your money

By there are much better apps
This app may save your life if you’re in the range of: close enough to get reception and dumb enough to go out that far with it... I bought it because it flaunted river navigation “as easy as waze” and it still says I’m on top of the lines I dropped 3 miles ago. Getting your money back is an even more embarrassing story. Just don’t get it... there’s so many better apps out there that I wish I would have tried first, in retrospect.
  • Great app!

Like Waze for the water, so much easier than normal charting apps. And when someone else wants to drive, I can just pull it up and tell them to avoid the red ;)
  • Great App

Had to navigate some skinny bay water and the app performed its job. Since then I continue to use it planning out routes, fishing spots, etc and am very happy with it.
  • Very Satisfied

From the start, found it extremely easy to use and equally helpful. Customized instrument settings provide the info you want balanced w readability and font size.
  • Recommended by my sailing instructor

This app was initially recommended to me by my first sailing instructor. I cruise often now and bought many other marine nav apps but keep finding myself using iNavX
  • Nice

This is a great app and highly useful when out on big waters. It does most of the functions that software costing 100s per year do.
  • Great navigation App

Accurate, economical, easy to use, and many nice bonus features. Wavve for example is a really nice touch and great in shipping lanes.
  • Dependent on other users

My experience was underwhelming, but this app has some promise. My local lakes look nothing like the screenshots showing buoy locations and points of interest. The instruction video says to zoom in to see the bouys, but I didn’t. This is a web 2.0 app. Meaning that it is a pretty frontend to an empty database, just waiting for users to fill with interesting locations. Unfortunate for me, I was the only user in Minnesota. As of June 2018, here are the states I see with the most markers in the North America database: California, Florida, Ontario, Connecticut, New Jersey. Tip: This app requires a subscription to access. After installing, sign up for the mandatory two week trial. Cancel the subscription right away after signing up (Settings > iTunes and App Store > tap your name at the top and View your Apple ID > Subscriptions). Canceling the subscription does not cancel the trial. You can keep using the app for the next two weeks without concern that you will forget to cancel before being charged. You can re-signup later if you like the app enough. Notes for dev: You should split into free and paid access to the app. Free users can only see there own waypoint markers. This basic functionality is still quite useful and would be popular. Important: Free users are unable to set their markers to private. Show gentile reminders to free users that they are missing out on not having paid features. Such as a notification, “There are 200 Wavve pins in your area, upgrade to view”. Paid users get the functionality as it is now. The ability to see markers from others in addition to submitting their own with the option for privacy. Lastly, reduce the duration the trial subscription to a single weekend / 3 days. Re-reading the app description. Maybe I am missing the point of Wavve. “navigate with ease, avoid hazards, and make the most of your time on the water” Are the buoy and other hazard markers supposed to be pre-populated without userdata? I didn’t see any on the local lakes I searched in the app. Zooming all the way in, nothing.
  • Good application

    Really helpful GPS, working great!
  • Barely a proof of concept....

    By technomadia
A cool idea, but currently barely useful. There was not a single point of interest / marina in the entire state of Florida. And the charts are dangerous for navigation - lacking even markers.
