What Dog (A Microsoft Garage Project) By Microsoft Corporation Description What Dog, recognizes dogs and classifies them by their breed. As with any AI technology powered experiences, What Dog is able to learn and get better over time. While What Dog has knowledge of over a 100 popular pure breeds, it is still learning to recognize mixed breeds, so if we don't get it right, send us feedback from within the app, and then try again in the future! What Dog Fun: Just for fun we include a fun mode that lets you find out what dog breeds you and your friends are. Do some research: There's also an extensive collection of breeds that contains information such as disposition, size, coat and what types of families are best suited for each. This is the kind of app you're going to take out when you're with your friends. You'll make fun of each other, comparing which breeds you look like, and posting the tagged photos. We hope you enjoy it and the what-dog.net website as much as we enjoyed building them! The Microsoft Garage is an outlet for experimental projects for you to try. Doesn’t work! First I took a picture of my very large, but not overweight, 85 lb full blood Doberman Pincher lying down with head up. It said, “It is not a dog.“ So giving it the benefit of a doubt I tried a picture of my dog’s head next to a headrest in my car, where you can obviously see the size comparison of his head to the headrest. He has his ears cropped in the show cut (which I didn’t do, by the way). It said 60% or so that it was a Miniature Pincher. The rest were other small breed dog options. So I picked a picture where I thought there was no doubt as to the breed. He is a textbook large red Dobie. It still came up with Min Pin. I give up!! Going to delete now. Waste of my time!!

I used four different photos of my dog, and got four different answers.
  • Not very accurate

Please keep the updates coming though. Never thought AI could be brought so close to the masses so soon.
  • Sorry this is not even close

Sorry not even close, identified a German Shepard as a Mastiff and a small terrier as a Weimaraner. Again sorry, really wanted it to work.
  • Waste

So I got my puppy Luna when I visited my grandma’s in the country that I’m from and from the start I couldn’t figure out what breed she was and so I been searching the internet and nothing. I gave up but When I saw this app Installed and it is THE BEST helper because I finally found out that my puppy is mix between two breeds. If your having trouble then this app is what you need.
  • Just goes based on looks

Just got this for fun but it’s a waste of time. Whatever lighting my dog was in, it got that colored dog. Mine is a German Shepherd and it calculated a Weimaraner?
