TripScout helps you discover the world like never before and has been named as a top travel app by USA Today, Travel & Leisure, Conde Nast Traveler, Forbes, and more! We curate the best recommendations from local experts and provide trip-planning tools to personalize your travel experience. Our app provides insider tips that you won’t find in guidebooks. We teach you about a place’s culture, and ensure you uncover all of a city’s hidden gems – from a grandma running a restaurant out of her house, to a hidden speakeasy bar, to street art that helped inspire a revolution. Experience where chefs eat, where bartenders drink, and where baristas meet for coffee. Learn about a city’s iconic sites, wander around the coolest neighborhoods, and find vantage points only photographers know about. Our app works completely offline and has engaging podcast-style audio guides from locals in many of our cities. There are fascinating stories all around us. • Great way to feel “Localized”

    By Dan Moser
I’ve used this app a few times and am actually pleasantly surprised. TripScout does place high in user retention (after all, you’re joining a community). I haven’t used it much, but def worth taking the time. OFFLINE GPS MAP IS AMAZING!!! favorite reason to use it. Such a cool way to feel localized.
  • Personal attention to their customers.!!

My map wouldn’t download for the offline map service where you can see the map at the top of pikes peak or outer space! I email the support center and in one day they fixed the bug and resolved my problem and told me how to download the map. GET THIS APP YOU WONT BE DISAPPOINTED AND IF YOU ARE THEY WILL WORK HARD TO FIX IT.
  • The greatest travel tool out there!

I just recently planned my first trip to Paris, London, and Dublin with my friend and because of work, I only have 10 days to see all three cities! Luckily, my friend and I were able to plan our out trip with ease using TripScout!! We were able to scope out the hostels we are staying at as well as all the major landmarks, museums, and bars we want to visit. I can't imagine planning a trip to another city without this app. I can't wait to use the app in Europe!!!
  • Love it

It’s a new app so it’s a work in progress but I see a lot of potential. The CEO seems very passionate & really eager to help. I don’t usually spend money on apps but paying for the Iceland guide is seriously going to help. I have road tripped Iceland alone before & this would’ve been so much more useful & avoided wasted hours trying to find routes. Really looking forward to testing in many more countries.
  • Just what I needed

I used the app while in Bucharest and appreciated links to the different websites associated with different sites. I really appreciated the map feature as well.
  • Like having a local friend in each city

    By lexie12345
I like the fact that they’ve designed the guides in conjunction with someone who already lives in each city and knows it well. Yeah you have to pay for each city, but it definitely would cost more than $2.99 to figure out by yourself where the best hole in the wall restaurant is, or which sights I don’t really want to see, or customize which ones I want to see but aren’t on the map. For the few places that don’t have audio, those city guides only cost 99 cents, so I think it’s a pretty good deal. And the offline map option is pretty thoughtful so you’re not paying international roaming.
  • Fantastic App and Company

I love the attention to detail in the city guides! Also the personal emails and knowledge from the Founders was incredibly helpful!
  • Technical problems

The app functioned initially, but now greets me with “Error: Invalid User Credentials”, then perpetual “Map loading...”
  • Must have ap

    By meredithofthenorth
I used this ap on a solo trip through Washington D.C. It gave me many great ideas outside of the ordinary historic buildings /museums / monuments. I would recommend this ap and look forward to using it again on my next adventure! Thank you for help!

Speaking from moderate experience - 20 years living outside my home country on 3 separate continents - I feel qualified to say that TripScout is # for # one of the best city guides I’ve ever used. The content is richly blended with historical insight and humor, the destinations are well curated, and the design of the app is attractive and easily navigable. My only suggested improvements would be to ensure that every selected destination is complete with an audio description. Most of them were, but it was slightly disappointing when I encountered the few that weren’t. Also, the map does not function offline as well as google’s, but that’s probably to be expected. It still works pretty darn well. Happy trails!
